About Treetops Sylvan
Treetops Sylvan Resort, in the heart of Northern Michigan's snowbelt, is a perfect family getaway. Treetops is located just outside the Alpine Village of Gaylord. It receives an annual snowfall of 175 inches, which provides the ideal setting for fantastic Alpine and Nordic skiing. Nineteen downhill runs wind their way through the majestic hardwood forest that covers the 400-acre winter park. Snowboarders are welcome at Treetops. They are allowed on the entire ski area and have a half-pipe for their own private use. Nordic enthusiasts will find the "Midwest's best terrain" for cross-country skiing. The 20 km of groomed and tracked trails are all clearly marked and range in difficulty from beginner to expert. Treetops also offers snowtubing. The tubing ride is separate from the ski area and is available for a "ride on the wild side." The unique tubing lift attaches to the tube by a tether and tows you and the tube to the top of the hill for another run. While the snow at Treetops is usually abundant, state of the art snowmaking and grooming equipment can pile up the snow and have it groomed into fresh blankets of snow in hours.
