About Lutsen Mountains
Lutsen Mountains is located near Lake Superior and is the largest and highest ski area in mid-America. The four mountains, interconnected by lifts and trails spread over 1,000 acres, are similar in scale to some Western areas. Lutsen consists of four mountains with 87 runs on 462 skiable acres, a 988-foot area vertical rise, and an 825 foot lift-serviced vertical rise. It benefits from the natural snow generated from storms off Lake Superior and boasts the Midwest's largest snowmaking system. Lutsen also has mid-America's only mountain gondola.
