Nestled in the Ammonoosuc Valley at the base of 6,288-foot Mt. Washington, the Bretton Woods Nordic Ski Area is one of the largest cross-country facilities in the East. The area boasts a 100-kilometer (62-mile) trail network that caters to skiers of all ability levels. Trails are groomed with a machine-made track for traditional skiers and a skate lane on the inside for skate skiers and snowshoers.The natural beauty of the trail network is breathtaking. Glide along the open fields, wind through glades of spruce and fir, pass by beaver ponds and mountain streams, and traverse open hardwood stands.Whether taking a peaceful tour on the B&M trail to Upper Falls, packing a picnic lunch for a long tour on the Clinton trail, or training for the Olympics on Tim Nash or Muskeekee Spring, Bretton Woods has variety and challenge for all.
